Hey all. Sorry I have taken a while to respond. I too have been in the hospital for the past three days. Long story, but I have been diagnosed with some severe type of anemia. After having been poked, prodded, scoped, transfused with two units of blood (thank you, whoever you are that cared enough to donate!), infused with a unit of iron, I am feeling better. They still don't know the cause, or what lies down the road. Tests and options to come. Thank you all for stopping by, and usually, I will try to get back to everyone quicker. There's always hope, even through the grief. It feels so good to hear others who care. Thanks again. Frankie

What a crazy world it is..Frankie you are not alone in this I have been with anemia all my life and it sucks because you have to eat foods that are high in iron or take iron pills -- Personally I will eat food before taking pills!! Try eatting alot of green veggies they are the highest in iron content!!

I hope you feel better and if you need anything just let me know!

I am feeling better after the transfusions, but still nervous since they can't figure out why my marrow is not producing any red blood cells. But so far, tests have been showing heathy results, not sure where the problem lies. I will stop by your blog tonight to see how things are on your end.

Hey Miss Terri! I know what you mean about the diet thing, and iron. I had struggled with that for ten years. But this time, the numbers went dangerously low (on one scale where your red blood cell count should fall between 12 and 16, I was at a 7... hence the transfusions.) But the major concern this time, is that usually when you become severely anemic (as I'm sure you know ) your bone marrow will kick in and manufacture more red blood cells. For whatever reason mine refuses to do so. We will see. Right now, just talking with others makes me feel good. I went out and bought a new bicycle today. I live close to a beautiful marina, and plan on building back my strenght in a healthy, scenic way! Please stop by often.

1man, what a comforting picture. Thank you! I have been to your blog several times, and find you refreshingly honest. So glad you took a moment out for me. I'm working on getting well... believe me... I refuse to give into negative thoughts. Thank you again for a break from reality, and a beautiful, if though quick, daydream.
